It sounds like only the office is 'unreachable'.

2 steps up to bedroom level; 4 to kitchen/living
Would you consider 'ramps'? This might require some remodeling, of course.

I'm sure that a 'lift' could be built that would put a wheelchair on level with the two stair and 4 stair arrangements (might be two lifts :-).

Meanwhile the office would have to be moved to an accessible location.

You might consider getting an 'ADA Certified' planner to come look at the house. (American's w/ Disabilities Act)


For the reverse mortgage... do you have a relative/friend who would be willing to enter into a reverse mortgage type arrangement w/out all the fees and costs?
