Hi Cou!

I can´t tell all differences in the accounting principles that are used in Europe and/or Japan.
In Germany for e.g. we have three kinds of accounting principles being used by corporations. We have our german system which sticks to rules described in a law called HGB, we have IAS (International Accounting...)
and we have US-GAAP. As more and more German corporations try to attract foreign investors to buy their shares they switch from HGB to IAS and more often to US-GAAP.
The U.S. play a major role in financial markets and I think that sooner or later almost every corporation will use US-GAAP.
Just check the corporations Web-Site to find out wether they are using GAAp or not.
