Hi danablanca,

The reference was to one of the 3 main customers dropping Scotts as their primary supplier of product, not the growth or shrinkage of those big guys' store bases. For instance, Wal-Mart this past year started pushing their private-label brand products a bit and gave Scotts brands less shelf space, particularly as the weather started wreaking havoc on sales in the category. A move in that direction is more troubling than Lowes closing a few stores down, for sure.
