Just to close this thread out, thank you everyone for taking the time to offer advice. I'm going to start with CCCS and take it from there, with the possibility of taking out a smaller HEL to at least bring some of the payments down.

But I do agree that credit counseling is the place to start, and that budgeting is key as well.

And yes, I'll be visiting both the Budgeting and LBYM boards.

And I'll stop complaining, too. I apologize if my message sounded overly "whiny" for lack of a better word.

I wish I could respond to all of your questions but there are just so many I think it's time to move on! I'll post updates as events unfold.
