That's probably wise. :-) I suggest doing the same thing with the lab appointment that you did with the pharmacy. Basically, just tell them you paid and ask them to check their records. They may find your payment and be able to apply it to your account.

There is also the chance that they will waive it based solely on your word since it is such a low amount. That's a pretty slim possibility, though, so I wouldn't stake my hopes on it.

As far as the written proof for the pharmacy, I suggest you send them a letter detailing your conversation with the clerk. I would note that you asked for documentation which couldn't be provided so you are sending this letter as a helpful transcript of the conversation for your record. Make sure you keep a copy of the letter and note the day you sent it.
