Hi Tom,

Not sure you may have already tried this but phone appointment and uploading data to SSA online was helpful to me in past. Having a passport and providing that information was also helpful to my brother in dealing with SSA, although obtaining a passport is now also more difficult and delayed!

Another suggestion that may or may not help or be possible depending on where you live, contact your congressional representative. His or her office can sometimes help with these type of government problems.
