New to this board, but not to the Fool.

Just thought I'd start out with a friendly "hi", and a little background

I am 5'4", and am hovering at 139 pounds right now. USED to be underweight, and eat lots of carbs in an effort to gain weight, but thanks to Quinten (born August 28), getting weight on is no longer the problem, taking it off is.

So, intuition points to the obvious: If I was using carbs to gain weight, I have to stop using a lot of them to lose weight.

My "impolite's version of a low-carb diet" is as follows: meats, veggies and fruits are freebies, and I allow myself four servings of carb carbs a day. So far, I am losing a pound a week, a nice healthy loss. What carbs I do eat are "good" ones: whole grain version of things like bagels, tortillas, etc. I avoid rice cause I love it so much.

One of the things I've noticed so far is how my appetite has diminished...I'm not near as hungry as I was before.

My major concern so far: the fat content of my diet. I panic everytime I see it. I know, I know, you need the fat in a high protein diet to help with the consumption of so much protein, but still, it freaks me out. How did you fools get over this high fat thing?
