Not really sure how to answer your question. Many investors like to wait until there is at least several quarters of financial data to review. Also not sure what you mean by mature. There is certainly an advantage to investing in a company early as the returns can be quite dramatic. But remember with higher rewards always comes higher risks. So I guess I would say it depends on your level of risk tolerance.

I like Nike and have owned it for years. Great long term investment in my opinion and pays a dividend which gives it some downside protection.
