Hmm, I dont think it's too much of an immediate threat to TXN who makes a much much wider array of embedded chips of all types for an equally diverse set of applications. I am not sure that they make CDMA chips which is a big area for DSP Inc and now Intel.

TXN _is_ down today on good earnings, but, every high tech chip maker and chip like maker I follow is from Intel to JDSU to BRCM and onward... I suspect that motion is a general sector action.

I am unsure if they compete directly now, but, they will likely clash in some areas in the next several years. That said, I suspect that those areas will they will clash, chips for wireless networking products, will be growing fast enough that there will be room for both..
