Hmm No Tangible Assets? A data base that includes not only the detailed buying habits of over 6 million customers but in-depth demographic information about their online (within Amazon) shopping preferences?

This isn't limited to books any longer as their fifth tab (shop the web) includes a full range of products and services.

When television first came out many people asked how to value a business that gave their product away (except for cable). Does this mean that CBS, ABC and NBC are "overvalued" since they don't have "assets" either?

It is often difficult to figure out how to value intangibles but that doesn't mean they don't have assets.

(full disclosure I own less than .1% of Amazon and live in Seattle)
