Hockey trivia:

In 1970 the Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres joined the NHL. They spun a roulette wheel to see who got first draft choice. The Sabres won it and selected first.

The Canucks, with second choice took Dale Tallon. The Sabres got Gilbert Perrault.

The Canucks traded Tallon to the Blackhawks three years later. Perrault played his full 17-year career with the Sabres and became a legend.

Rip, rueful Canucks fan from day one
For some reason i thought Tallon was taken number 1, thanks for the clarification. Tallon had his rookie picture in the proshop hanging on the wall, i loved that old Canucks uniform, the rink with the stick and the puck in it, much better than the candy corn uniforms that came later. Of course i might hate those uniforms more because they beat the Hawks in the playoffs with those uniforms, Richard Brodeur, bastard, "he ain't heavy, he's my Brodeur".
