I want to retire early.
I've got a directadvice account that says I can probably do it by age 59. Not bad. Unless you're a guy who renovates houses. I can't imagine breaking
down walls and laying sheetrock for that long. I'm looking at ways to bring that number down to 55 and there are a few ways to make sure I've got retirement covered, but I want to consider leaving the States at 55 rather than retiring here at 59. That's not a very traditional option. I thought I'd float the idea and see if you know guys who've retired to countries
where their investments in the States make it easier to live. I know it's done, but I don't know anybody who does it. I dont' want to be rich in a poor country. I want some warm climate, maybe with a beach nearby, and I just want to live quietly. I don't need much.
