Hi all,

Just joined this week and have been voraciously reading and trying to get my head around this thing. I worked with my broker to get the paperwork started for options trading today. He stated that the fees charged by Ameriprise (where my IRAs and Education accounts are) vary according to the type of trade, but to start are $40/trade plus $2/contract (1 contract=100 shares). Using the keeping costs down to less than 2% per trade means $2000 plus per trade.

How does this compare with other services.

I know their trades for stocks are higher than some at $20 per trade but also wondering if it is worth it to open another trade account with Ameritrade or the like.

Looking forward to this week's pick and digging in.

Best fortunes!
