How can any law be Constitutional that seeks to turn the citizenry into "good Germans" ratting out and turning into the Nazi authority their neighbors and others for a purported abortion assist?

And a law that supposedly will be punitive for Texans even when the "act" (the intended abortion and/or the abortion itself) occurs outside the borders of Texas?

A few clarifications:

- SCOTUS did not rule on whether the law was constitutional, and I don't believe that the lower courts did either. At this stage in the litigation, the issue was whether to suspend the law pending a determination of whether it is constitutional.

- It's actually fairly common to have regulations that provide incentives for private citizens to initiate enforcement actions or to "rat out" violators. Of the top of my head, the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act rely heavily on "private attorneys general" to initiate enforcement actions. Countless other regulations allow for private parties to initiate complaints when they see people breaking the law, sometimes with rewards for doing so - everything from programs asking you to report illegal dumping to zoning code violations to OSHA violations.

- The media reports of the Texas law (which should be taken with a grain of salt) say that it excludes efforts that are made to help people obtain an abortion outside the state.
