I'm a FIRE wanna be and have been since I was 25. However, I have really only started seriously working towards this goal since 1998.

Anyway, How much do you think you need to FIRE?

Why so much or so little and how long do you think it will take to get there? If our house was paid off I think I could easily live on 30K a year. At a 4% withdrawal rate you would need around $750K. So I guess 750K and a house is my minimum cutoff. However, I would probably still work, but it would be the funner jobs in life. I'd like to go back to teaching skiing part time.

How about you?
