My wife and I are both 65 and have medicare now. We also have supplementary health insurnace. but no long term care insurance. We live in New York City. We have no kids, but I am worried about one of us being left broke because the other got sick.

If one of us has a major illness like a stroke and need very extended health care, are we protected, and what would happen to our assets?
