It is not easy to make your scholarship essay special. In fact, even if you meet the instructions of the admission committee, you are still one of the applicants with the same goals, aspirations, activities, and grades.

An application essay is your best chance to prove that you should receive a scholarship. It is written to let a scholarship provider discover the personality of an applicant, and gives them a detailed look at your life. If you take an effective approach, you will get the best result.

If writing is not your piece of cake, a scholarship essay may seem a challenging task. However, by following these tips, you will be able to create an awesome essay.

·         Know your audience.

If you look at a scholarship essay as a whole, you will realize that a scholarship provider is looking for a student who is able to meet special and unique criteria. When you got your instruction, look at the questions closely, the organization providing this scholarship, and past recipients if you can find them.

·         Plan in advance.

You can avoid the universal “one-size-fits-all” paper is you get an early start on your application. Start planning and research a month before you think you have to and you will have enough time to produce something really great.

This way, you will have enough time to create an outline that will help you to stay on your target. Think about three or four key points you are going to make in your response and add some sub-points under each of them to support the information. This is an effective way to create a structure of your entire essay and write it without stress and rush.

·         Make it passionate and personal.

When you start, don’t forget that your main aim is to convince the committee that you are the one they have been looking for. Highlight the questions you have stated in your outline, but be sure that each point you make is illustrated with details that support the main subject.

Don’t just write that you have awards for being a good actor, but rather tell them a story about the way stage helped you to struggle your shyness. Including your unique experience and interests in the paper will help you to create a memorable and highly-personal.

·         Find a person who will help you with editing.

This point is last, but not least. Make sure that you have enough time to give your essay to a good editor, whether it is your mom, professor, grammar-nerd buddy or a professional editor. Even a passionately written and well-researched document will not work if it includes awkward sentences and grammar mistakes. You can proofread it on your own, but remember that if you have spent enough time looking at your own text, you risk missing the technical and basic mistakes.

Indeed, a scholarship essay is a very important component of your application, and can be a real challenge, too. But if you start early, giving clear answers and describing what makes you special and unique, you will create an awesome essay without stress.
