I actually lived in a one of those houses for about a year. The houses in that neighborhood are old (50's), and very basic. The one I lived in was a 3/1 with the garage being converted to a room. Total square footage was probably a little over 1300. The kitchen was a joke, as was the 1 bathroom. Rent for the place was 1600, which I was extremely happy about cause that is cheap down here. Of course the place was in horrible condition, yard was out of control, it wason a very busy road and there was no heater or a/c (course it is San Diego). So what was the value of this place at the time? Between 500,000 and 600,000. I'm sorry but that is a joke. I love San Diego, but not that much. i will be moving to Jacksonville, FL in a year where I can get a brand new house for under 200,000.
