I am not sure what you are trying to do, but if you want to find a list of stocks that pay good dividends and that can be held forever, you are likely to be disappointed. I doubt such a list exists.

EDUC, for example, is down 21% over the last 12 months. The chart just screams "Nobody wants to buy me!". Where will it be in another year? I have no idea, but if people had confidence in the stock it would not have such a terrible chart.

Now if you claim that all you want is the dividends, fine, but that is a recipe for disaster. Preservation of capital is rather important. Now the reason that EDUC has such a terrible chart is that investors do not see a bright future for the company. If they did, they would bid the stock up, not down. Also, if investors thought that the dividend was secure, they would be bidding the stock up.

Actually, right now is a good time for cash. The major domestic indexes are currently trending down, and if seasonality happens this year, as it has many other years, the period May - September is likely to be a good time for cash. If the problems in Europe get resolved, September may be a good time for an entrance. Again, look at the charts.
