I asked one of them one time about whether my interweb use was excessive and he just laughed. He said it was more than the acceptable amount, but extremely lower than average.

My company claims they don't routinely monitor internet usage or email, only in cases where they are investigating someone for another reason.

So what are the chances that they're lying? I know that they're allowed to lie about stuff like this. Personally I sort of believe them, I have a hard time seeing our IT people have the time or budget to monitor people when they don't absolutely need to.
