I called Pepsi's transfer agent and the person I talked to wouldn't send me a DRIP brochure until I had purchased the 5 initial shares. I requested DRIP information on three specific companies at Equiserve. They sent three copies of a list of their company plans and no brochures. They also e-mailed they don't have a plan with Baxter (they do).

It's not you. I was surprised to log onto this board for the first time and see that you had the EXACT same problem I did. I emailed for info several months ago, got a reply within a few days that if I sent my mailing address they would immediately send me the info on their DRIP. Guess what? It NEVER came and they never replied with an explanation after I forwarded my address. So, I decided to phone this past week and got the same response as you did. The girl I spoke to was very adamant they I would not receive info unless I had that 5 shares of stock already. AAGGHH!

By the way, as it's my first time I need some info, too. I am invested in several DRIP's through previous employment stock programs and also the Disney plan - which is a good program and easy to get started in. However, I now have interest in several other plans that, like PepsiCo, require me to hold shares of stock to get into their plan. Most are 1 share. My question is this: can anyone here tell me if they invest through Moneypaper or NetStock or a local brokerage and what they feel the pro's and con's are? Since I only have 3 companies I need initial stock for I was leaning toward Moneypaper's $30 per without a subscription. Any thoughts?
