I did a quick, "back of the envelope" analysis on Siebel (SEBL) based on their most recently filed 10Q (3/31/00).

First a snapshot: "Siebel Systems, Inc is a provider of eBusiness applications, enabling organizations to sell to, market to, and service their customers across multiple channels, including the Web, call centers, field, resellers, retail and dealer networks. For the 3 months ended 3/31/00, revenues totaled $309.4M, up from $141.5M. Net income totaled $46.3M, up from $22M. Results reflect an increased number of licenses sold & growth of the consulting business."

Now for the data I came up with from the 10Q:

Revenue: $309,439,000 (up 118.7% from year ago quarter)

Gross margin: 75.8%
Net Margin: 14.9%

Total Cash/Equiv & S-T Invest: $797,162,000

S-T Debt: 0
L-T Debt: $300,000,000

Cash/Debt: 2.66

Flowie: 1.52 (down from 1.86 in year-ago quarter)

NOTE: These flowie numbers do not include the Marketable Equity Securities on the balance sheet. Using these (if appropriate) brings the flowie down to 1.28 most recent quarter and 1.29 year-ago quarter)

CKM: 39.2%

All in all, pretty solid numbers. Of course, this doesn't include comparison to any of Siebel's competitors. Looks like a company worth looking into.
