I don't believe that any of the flavors of quinine confer immunity from COVID, in fact I have read of current Lupus victims testing positive while taking what you say confers immunity.

It doesn't have to be 100% effective to be useful. If it reduced hospitalizations by, say, 80% or even 50% that would be good news. As for lupus, there was this news out of Italy last month:

Finally, further confirmation of this hypothesis are the data collected in the register of the SIR (Italian Rheumatology Society). In order to evaluate the possible correlations between chronic patients and Covid-19, SIR interviewed 1,200 rheumatologists throughout Italy to collect statistics on contagions. Out of an audience of 65,000 chronic patients (lupus and rheumatoid arthritis) who systematically take Plaquenil/hydroxychloroquine, only 20 patients tested positive for the virus. Nobody died, nobody is in intensive care, according to the data collected so far.
