I don't have evidence, but it is my opinion that the "big boys" have moved stocks in the past. They control enough money that they can do that. In fact, didn't they eat one of their own in the 2008/2009 meltdown? Seems I recall they destroyed a financial house with at least some manipulation (Lehman?).

For the first time the little guy was able to do it by joining forces (on a Reddit board??). Gamestop was amusing because a) I didn't have any money in it, and b) the "big guys" were whining that "the little people" were beating them at their own game. As I recall they actually wanted legal and/or regulatory action.

I heard that AMC was a new target. I haven't followed it closely, but I'm assuming the little guys are trying to short-squeeze the big boys, which drives the price up even higher as they have to cover their shorts. Is that what's happening?
