I don't think it's a bad idea at all. You have plenty of time since you mentioned the 20 year window so I wouldn't sweat it. Continent or country bull/bear runs are difficult to predict. I mean, hey, here in the U.S. we had a heck of a bull run from the early 80's to 2000. Granted, rebalancing during that time period would have lost you some money but probably not too much if you kept 75% in U.S. equities. Maybe the inverse will happen over the next decade...who's to know? I guess I'd keep what you currently have and leave you with this quote from the almighty Warren Buffet: "Betting against America has been a losing proposition." Good luck to you.
