I don't think any of the video rental chains are good investments unless they are moving into the nascent Internet market of providing video footage online. In addition to making the whole business of renting movie footage much more convenient, it would have the added benefit of eliminating nagging customer service problems caused by belligerent teenagers who don't have a serious investment in the company's future.

I have no idea whether Blockbuster has plans to move into the Internet market, but I would not consider investing in the company otherwise.
