Well Gang, it finally happened.

After 2 years of realizing how miserable I was in the corporate cube farm, and 3+ years of searching for an opportunity, and another 4 months of actually making it happen, my new business took in its first profits today.

My moving and storage company took the belongings of lovely little southern granny, and moved them into her new home without incident. Her son actually offered me more money that I asked for because he was so pleased with the job we did. I'm sitting here looking at the check, and I just can't believe how good it feels.

I helped someone today. And while I was at it, I threw in some free boxes and a little extra service, just because it was the right thing to do.

I have given jobs to 4 young men who are happy to have them.

And best of all -
I no longer have to worry about some jerk getting promoted and controlling my life. I don't have to worry about layoffs, reorganizations, new company policies, or the incomprehensible tides of office politics.

I'm free. At age 47, I have finally escaped 'the box', and I will never return to it. Ever.

I post this not only because I'm feeling good, but I wanted to tell any of you who are trying, and feeling discouraged - Don't give up. You can make it happen. And it's definitely worth the effort.

Best Wishes
