I finally got an email from PayPal that seemed to provide as clear an answer to the account verifying issue as I'm going to get.

And it's exactly as someone on this board suggested.

PayPal does not have a list of banks they won't accept, it's that some banks won't accept electronic transfers of funds. Without an electronic transfer into your bank account, PayPal won't verify the account.

The message from PayPal was to make sure the bank accepts electronic transfers before opening the account if you want to use it with PayPal.

Well, just to further muddy the waters. This is what Netbank had to say about not accepting electronic transfers... Apparently they only accept incoming deposits? So once it's in your Netbank account you are stuck... (grin)

Thank you for contacting NetBank. In response to your inquiry, we are able to accept incoming electronic deposits such as wires and ACHdeposits. There are several ways to make deposits into your NetBank accounts. You can set up direct deposit, wire transfer, mail checks, overnight express and through ATM machines. You may go to this link, for more information. If there is anything else we can assist you with, please contact us. We value your business and appreciate your choosing NetBank.

Thank you,
