I had a solo 401k at Axa Financial and they charged $400 a year for management.

I switched to Fidelity individual 401k and there is no annual charge and no need for EIN...but they also will not allow loans against the funds.

Vanguard was looking into individual 401k a year ago and required you get an EIN even if your amount was under $250k.
