I have a Providian but I don't like them. I'm working very hard to someday get paid off! They wouldn't lower my interest rate, but I'm with my vesta (debt mgt) and now it's down to 19%, MyVesta got them lowered where I couldn't. If you do decide to keep Providian, don't let them increase your credit limit (I made that mistake in the past, cost me $49.00 every time that they did, YIKES) I would also ask them if they could please lower the interest rate, and if they say NO, shop around for a Lower interest credit card if you have good credit.
Just my 2 cents worth!
