I have always sent and received money online to and from checking accounts. Does the same thing work to and from saving accounts?

Yes, except there are federal limits on the number of withdrawal transactions per month from a savings account. At most, a savings account can have 6 withdrawals of any type (including, but not limited to: EFT, ATM, wire transfer, overdraft coverage, ACH or in person). If you exceed 6 withdrawals in a month on a regular basis, your bank will probably convert your savings account to a checking account. If you exceed the limit occasionally, the account probably won't be converted, but many banks charge fees if you exceed a certain number (sometimes less than 6) of withdrawal transactions in a month. So if you need to send money from your savings account to multiple recipients, it's best to move the total required amount to a checking account, and then disburse the money from that account to the recipients.
