I have been studying Wi-LAN for the last three days, after hearing about it on this BB. There is an active Wi-LAN BB on SI, with many links to informative articles and research reports. Many of the posters, especially in early posts, are clearly very knowledgeable about networking, communications and wireless issues.

Wi-LAN's website also contains a lot of useful information.

I bought an initial small stake in the company through Fidelity - where I have most of my accounts - using their International Brokerage Division. Fidelity's symbol for Wi-LAN is WILIF, but it doesn't give quotes.

I am able to get quotes at quicken.com under the symbol ASE:WIN (ASE for Alberta Stock Exchange) and WIN as the company symbol on that exchange.

BTW, the reaction of some posters on this board may have been chiefly triggered by the insolent moniker "CanadaRules"!

While, the limited DD I've been able to do to date leads me to believe that Wi-LAN may be an excellent IP play (Intellectual Property), I too, am concerned about the unnecessary evangelism of Wi-LAN's supporters. It does not do a stock any good to be over-touted. Let's all cool it, I say, and just consider it as another interesting lead in this fascinating and volatile marketplace.
