I have been thinking/dreaming of a bar as well and I was directed to a few books that I picked up from Amazon to get some more background knowledge on running a bar. The two books are:

Also, it might not hurt to try and talk to other bar owners in the area as some may be willing to share knowledge. Overall, I have found other bar owners to be extrememly helpful and willing to answer questions and be of some general assistance.
