I have experienced a bit of this myself in the past, but not nearly as much as he seems to be experiencing.

Anyone else have these experiences? How did you overcome?

I do part-time consulting out of my home. The rest of the time, I'm sort of retired, although I'm only 51. When I left my office job several years ago, folks simply couldn't understand it. I think there is a great perception out there that folks who work out of the home are "home office losers." Honestly, I don't give a damn what other folks think. I know what I left behind, and I don't miss it at all.
