I have no data to support this, but I firmly believe that if this campaign would be for any of the other diseases (e.g. Colon Cancer Research), the funds collected would only be a fraction of what Breast Cancer Awareness gets.

Is it because of the pink color, the boobies (and mens' obsession with them), the Susan Komen foundation, I wouldn't know.

There is also the fact that Breast Cancer can be easily self-detected, so just increasing the AWARENESS has a huge impact on early detection and mortality rates. Just seeing all that pink during games will prompt a lot of women to do a quick check when they have the time.

And I would think that $100 spent on Breast Cancer Awareness have a greater impact than $100 spent on Colon Cancer Research.
