I have no idea how long or what gauge extension you currently have. But if it is a 16 gauge 100ft extension cord, I would just buy a new one at the big box store.

Probably makes sense if it's 16. But for a nice 12/3 100' cord, I'd definitely be looking to repair, as they're closer to $100.

For others reading, if you're gonna have one LONG extension cord, make sure it's a heavy duty one. One day, someone's gonna want to plug a power tool into it, and you'll want a cord rated for a full 15 amps.
