I have used clusteing out technologies on ibm netfinity MS os very successfully, so your pro-orcl numbers don't hold water. Plus having one point of failure on one piece of hardware is not a good argument. Next, you are going to tell us that the independent www.tpc.org can not be trusted. All companies have to follow the same parameters. Stop pulling clintonite messages and address the real issue of loss here.

Did I mention Oracle? No. I wasn't even thinking it. My argument holds for any database, and even for other applications. I was mearly addressing the fact that 24 machines take more admin work than 1, and therefore we were not comparing apples to apples when we look at the TPC top 10.

Have you not heard that Database vendors actually change the code of their software so they preform well in these "trusted" benchmarks. They do this even at the expense of losing ground in real life situations.

Again...my point is that if anyone thinks that this TPC chart will make a customer purchase from one vendor then they are sadly mistaken. There is MUCH more to it than what TPC tests for.
