I haven't read the article, only that it is from AXA...and that's all I need to know.

AXA, along with such companies as Edward Jones and Waddell & Reed, are financial products companies, not financial planning services companies, where compensation is via commission. No sales, no compensation. Those who rise up within the company are good at sales which usually has little to do with providing objective financial advice.

Now, just because these are financial products driven companies does not necessarily mean the products are bad or unsuitable. But whether they are or not will not be explained by the salesman....you'll have to figure that out yourself.
