I honestly don't see why you would want to continue to live beyond your means if you're conscious of it. If money is simply burning a hole in your pocket so that you just HAVE to go shopping, then try setting up an automatic investment plan so you don't have the money available to tempt you.

Are you sure you're really living beyond your means? I mean if you got the money to spend and your future is secure, is that living beyond your means? Now if you’re spending the rent money, or can’t buy the babies’ diapers, you definitely got a problem ;). However, if I had money like that to spend I would rather invest it. Think of it this way… what investment can I buy into this week… :).

I am able to save a fair bit, and I'm tempted to spend all the time. I just decided I would buy myself one thing a paycheck to content my material wants - like a $15 DVD... built quite a collection that way. The rest I’m saving and learning about investing, so soon I can do so.
