I just got back from the mail box, dropping off the check that will pay off the balance on the second of four credit cards I've been dealing with. I was so eager to get rid of this one that I sent them a check before they sent me a statement -- I had my checkbook out and I just didn't want to wait for Mr. Chase to get my statement together before finishing this one off. That leaves just two cards left, and I'll be driving a stake through the heart of another one next month. Once that's done, all my consumer debt will be on one card at an until-balance-is-paid rate of 4.9%.

It may sound like I'm making the credit card companies out to be the enemy here, but the real foe I'm vanquishing is my former lack of planning and discipline. I'm reclaiming myself, and it feels good.

Way2Go, Cheeze!

I'm going to have to start printing up your membership card for the Freedom From Debt Club so it'll be ready for you! :-)

Nothing Cheezey about the progress you're making!
