I know military doctors are free, but I would rather put her on my Blue Cross and just pay the difference.

I have heard that many of the doctors are assigned to rotations regardless of what their career interests or aptitudes may be. So you may end up with a dermatologist/pathologist/ENT assigned as your family practitioner. At least that's what I have heard about.

Sounds like maybe BC would be a good option in light of your experience.
