I loved this comment (prevention rather than cure) from someone who can only put glass into the trash where she lives

Glass is basically inert. For all of the things that go into landfill, glass has one of the least impacts. I continue to have mixed feelings about the usefulness of glass recycling.

I am limited what is bought in cans because of the health concerns. Plastic containers also have their issues, including as the amount of plastic used in containers is decreased to be green, they break more frequently.
