I luv ya, AJ! Thank you so much for your response! :-) I don't "want" a CC -- have done quite well for the last six years with cash, check, debit and an occasional charge/immediate payment to Care Credit.

The following is my reply to CMF Fuskie:

Actually, that was probably poor wording. I need one that is easily obtainable for someone with not the best credit scores. For the last six years, I have been paying with strictly cash, check or debit card. The only credit card I have is Care Credit, and I make sure to use that every few months and then pay it immediately. The only reason I am even getting one at the current time is that I paid in advance for a stay at a hotel in March. I found out afterwards that I need to present a CC when I get there; debit card will not do. This was not explained to me at the time I paid; otherwise, I would not have accepted the offer.

And, you're right. It does seem like a huge difference. The problem is there is a CC that was closed several years ago. Experian is the only one of the three that is reporting late payments on it every month. So that's the reason for the 621 score with them and the higher scores with the others. It should drop off this year.
