I nominate Rodger Rafter for the Feste Award.

A vote for Rodger Rafter is a vote for quality, in-depth data-supported economic analysis.

Rodger specializes in digging up reams of data from the government, the markets, and the exchanges, analyzing it with great insight, and formulating a clear, coherent message. Rodger's insights into abstruse but critical markets (such as the yen carry trade and many more) are matched by none at the Motley Fool and few anywhere on the web.

In addition, Rodger is a gentleman. Patient and willing to explain, Rodger is always civil and never loses his temper. He is a mainstay of the Macro Economic Trends and Risks (METAR) Board, the most active economic message board at the Motley Fool.

Rodger's rational, dispassionate, objective posts don't garner the floods of recs that the rabble-rousers do. But one of Rodger's posts is worth 10 of many other more recommended posts. Each post is an exercise in reader comprehension...surely much less effort than Rodger took in composing it.

Time spent pondering RodgerRafter's posts is time well spent. He always makes a profound point, which impacts macroeconomic understanding.

Here are some of Rodger's outstanding posts from 2008.

Yen Carry Trade:

American Debt Ponzi Scheme:

GSEs are Insolvent

Goosing the Money Supply

Desperate Times, Desperate Measures

Inside a Toxic MBS Pool

How Banks are exploiting the crisis

Is the Fed Heading for Bankruptcy Too?

October-November-December Seasonality

Foreshadowing a Currency Crisis?

What the Government Really Should be Doing

Deflation, Money & Recovery

Here is RodgerRafter's own summary of his many Posts of the Day, over his 10+ years of contributions to the Fool Community.

RodgerRafter had 14 Posts of the Day in 2008. Perhaps this is a Motley Fool record?

Since joining the Motley Fool in 1998, Rodger has posted 1582 times, and garnered 18109 recs, almost 12 recs per post. That may be a higher ratio than any other Fool, even ones on the Most Recommended list. That's because Rodger only posts quality, not quantity.

A vote for RodgerRafter is a vote for quality.

Please vote for RodgerRafter for a well-deserved Feste Award.
