So the Feste is back on, and I say more power to it. Nothing like a meaningless award ceremony to give us focus and clarity.

Anyway, I thought of nominating myself since that seems to be in vogue this year, but then I looked up there next to my name and I already have one of the icons, and I remembered: I've been here before and I lost to a dead guy. So it with my usual brace of humility that I withdraw my name from consideration, even though nobody considered it in the first place.

In past years I have nominated different people and none of them have won, so in hopes of vanquishing my losing streak, I nominate sonnypage, a long time Fool and a real-estate agent, but I repeat myself.

sonny is well known to the readers of the "Macroeconomic and Trends and Risks" board, largely because he opens almost every post with "Most of the readers of the METAR board know me...", which, over time, has a way of coming true. And we do.

sonny and his wife are Realtors as well as associate brokers, whatever that means, and has given us a first hand look "from the trenches", literally, because he's bought a house on a lake which continues to dry up and make his dock more useful as a cupula than a place to moor a boat, but what of that? I would think that would give sonny more beachfront real estate, but what do I know?

Anyway, having a front row seat during the real estate fiasco which threatens to destroy our economy and way of life has been fascinating, if endlessly depressing, but like so many other first-person accounts his tales have been chocked full of handy tidbits for homeowners and investors. "SELL EVERYTHING NOW" was probably the best one, but others in the Hall of Fame include "BUY GOLD" and the ever popular "BUY SILVER." I'm sure "BUY ZINC" was in there someplace, but I'm too lazy to go look for it.

Just kidding. sonny trades in commodities, and bases some of his investment strategies on a newsletter, which I point out, is not sold by the Motley Fool. He gets points just on that alone.

So without further ado: I offer sonnypage's name in nomination for the Feste. sonny and I couldn't be further apart on the political spectrum, but I find his writing engaging, boldly truthful, and enlightening to a degree that is rare on any discussion boards.

Good show.

Well, you get the idea. Great stories all. If you want more, just go to his profile and knock down his last 99 posts. I bet 96 of them are great, and the other three are on the Mining and Metals board, and who knows what those people talk about?

sonnypage for Feste. Rec this post so I get the credit, but when voting time comes, vote for sonny.

Or Roger. Or Mungo. Any of them, really, they're all good. Not for me, please. I'm not running. I already lost to a dead guy. Not that I'm obsessed with that or anything.
