I personally think Discover is more trouble than it's worth.

Had one for about 5 years; carried a balance for awhile, (BT, I think,) paid on time, never over limit. One day received notice IN the bill, not separately, that interest was raised to 16% or so. No warning, no reason. Called to ask why and was told that's the way it is. Hmm.

Cancelled the account and realized only later how much junk mail having a Discover card will get you.

We have a Costco Amex, (2 years now?) and are quite pleased with it. If you have a Costco nearby, or are thinking of joining one, I would recommend their Amex. The rebates are in the 2 - 3% range I think, but we've never had any issues that weren't quickly resolved. We changed from the regular Green card to this one when DH changed employers and new company didn't use corporate Amex. Still miss the tons of points we enjoyed for his airfare and travel expenses. Oh well.
