I plan to hold all my TIPS to maturity. said Wendy.

I don't know. After learning through March09, rather rudely, that I did not know that I needed an exit strategy, my plan NOW is to look at my positions (tips - treasuries - goldsilver, natgas, MMF, 3M, Asia, whatever and etal) each day and then decide to sell, buy or hold.

While I am not a day trader, I do look to trade each day.

Interest rates going up (referenced by the 10yr UST) can destroy the value we have built in these tips positions. I may get OUT for a while.

If they go down .... I can buy again at a lower price, or not.

If they go sideways my cost to rebuy is not worth a worry.

If they go up I can rebuy.
