I realized recently, though, that the negativity was bringing me down, as well as the sheer inanity of some of the stuff

Yes - The internet is full of negativity. And reading it or seeing it all the time really can screw up your brain. Best just to shut it off. Go to wikipedia and search on the date and read all of the interesting stuff that has happened that day. That's fun. Reddit has a few good subreddits that are interesting and fun, and some godawful ones to stay away from. They don't seem to overlap much.

Get too much negativity and after awhile you will start thinking there's a secret cabal of canabalistic alien overlord socialist billionaire vampire zombie pedophiles running the world out a pizzeria in the Bronx, and rump is our only hope . . . .
