I suddenly realized that I had forgotten to take my evening dose of Metformin with dinner, so I took it immediately. I'm guessing it is better to take a dose two hours late than not at all?

You're still with us, right? Yeah, it's no problem. What you don't want to do is take a missed dose shortly before you take the next one.

I wouldn't ever suggest that you follow the instructions my doctor has given me, but he says to take it at dinnertime or bedtime, it doesn't matter. I find it easiest to take my morning pills with breakfast and my evening pills with dinner, which are roughly 12 hours apart. (I have a few b.i.d's.)
