I think she's simply curious... or perhaps saying "thanks" for the treats.


We have numerous feeders in both the front and back yards of our house, and last week saw a hummingbird (female, I think,) chase a house sparrow off the suet cage! The hummingbird feeder is in a different part of the yard, so the hummer didn't really have any business over there, but she certainly made it clear she didn't care for the sparrow that was resting in the suet cage. (Have the suet feeder in a drum cage to keep the big birds out of it.) She darted repeatedly at the sparrow until the sparrow left. Apparently the north end of the yard has been claimed as hummingbird territory!


Always fun to watch the birds!
